Majority aspirants cleared the reintroduced MBA CET-2014

Every year enormous number of students with dream in their eyes appear for MBA Entrance Exam. This is because of the most enduring and charming leitmotif of a successful MBA today is an image of the aspirant as a pinstriped corporate executive, adjusted to a high flying corporate culture where they have to exhibit, apart from the sound knowledge and sharp acumen, fine sophistication, high level of interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, empathies, self-motivate and navigate their job and personal life with ease, comfort and class.

The Mah MBA –CET exam is conducted every year to determine the eligibility of the candidates for admission into different management degree programs offered by the institutes in the state. However this year the Maharashtra government had decided to reintroduced the CET. The decision was taken earlier this year after observing that nearly 45,000 seats remained vacant in B-Schools throughout the state in the 2013-14 academic session. It was after this observation, the management of several B- schools demanded the revision of the CET. Another reason behind re –introducing the CET in the state for the admission of MBA seats is to help the institutes which are located in remote rural areas to admit more students. More than thousand students from this area wish to apply for mba every year. Mah-MBA CET is much more popular among these candidates than CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) because there is no provision for group discussion, personal interviews rule and any score above zero will be sufficient to secure a seat through state wise merit list. It will be a huge scope for these candidates. Other than this 15 percent outside Maharashtra quota seats can be filled by candidates from Maharashtra.

According to the revised CET, this year 50,000 aspirants appeared for the exam which was conducted on 15th day of March 2014. It was earlier announced that the results would be declared on April 21, 2014 –but everyone was flabbergasted when DTE made it available much before on April 8 through the official DTE website. This year Maharashtra state has witnessed just fewer than 50,000 examinees qualifying the state level MBA entrance examination. MBA- CET 2014 was administered by the DTE. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) revealed that the exact number of candidates who had cleared the exam were 49,276; this means the number of students who failed to qualify were only 24. After scrutinizing and analyzing the data we get the results that, four candidates shared the top ranking with a score of 158. 1,400 plus students secured over 60+ per cent with a score of 120 or more. Just 2.86 per cent of the examinees managed to secure a first class score.

The examinees who had qualified the Mah – MBA CET have to go through three rounds before the counseling based final round. The final merit list after documents verification will be published in June 21.
