Italy Visa Requirements

Indian students must follow these mandatory steps:
  • Apply for admission on the selected Italian Higher Education Institution's official website before the application deadline.
  • After receiving the admission letter, apply online for Pre-Enrolment through the Universitaly portal.
  • Once pre-enrolment is completed, apply for a visa:
    • Type D (Long-stay Visa) if the course duration is more than 90 days.
    • Type C (Short-stay Visa) if the course duration is less than 90 days.
Visa Processing Time:
  • As per Italian law, the processing time for long-term (Type D) visa applications can take up to 90 days from the date of application submission.
  • If the Consulate requests additional documents, the processing time may exceed 90 days.
