Admission Requirements to Study in Malaysia

Minimum Academic Requirements

For undergraduate admission at University of Malaya, students must have completed at least 12 years of schooling with one of the following qualifications:

  • STPM
  • A-Level
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • High School / Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Diploma recognised by the university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00

Application Documents

A complete online application must include the following documents:

  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Certified copy of passport
  • Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts

  • Certified copies of TOEFL / IELTS or equivalent English proficiency test results (if available)
  • Letter of guarantee from sponsor (for sponsored students)

Additional Academic Requirement

All international students accepted into any programme at the University of Malaya are required to complete a Malay language course during their studies before graduating.

Application Fee

The application fee for international students is RM300 per application, payable via:
