Admission Requirements to Study in Poland

• Significant reforms to Poland's visa and education system came into effect on July 1, 2025. These changes substantially affect international student admissions and visa procedures. All students applying after this date must comply with new requirements.

For Undergraduate Programmes:

Educational Qualifications:

• Secondary school leaving certificate (high school diploma) equivalent to Polish education standards.
• Diploma must grant access to higher education in your country of origin.
• NEW (from July 1, 2025):Students with diplomas from countries outside EU/OECD/EFTA must obtain official recognition document from NAWA (National Agency for Academic Exchange) through the Syrena system.

• This recognition is mandatory and free of charge.
• Process conducted online with scanned documents.
• No legalisation required for Syrena system.
• If recognition from Education Superintendent was already obtained before July 1, 2025, it remains valid.

Language Proficiency:

• English language proficiency minimum B2 level (CEFR) for English-taught programmes.
• Polish language proficiency minimum B2 level for Polish-taught programmes.
• NEW (from July 1, 2025): Stricter verification of language proficiency by universities.
• Accepted English certificates (subject to university approval): TOEFL iBT (minimum 72 points B2, 95+ points C1, 114+ points C2), IELTS Academic (minimum 5.5-6.5 points B2, 7-8 points C1, 8.5-9 points C2), Cambridge English qualifications (B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency).

Poland Student Visa Requirements

Visa Types:

• Recent passport-sized photographs meeting Schengen visa specifications.
• Visa application fee: €80 (approximately $160).

Application Process:

• Apply at Polish Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence.
• In some countries (including India), applications can be submitted through External Service Provider.
• Visa issued within 30 days of application submission.
• Student visa valid for up to 1 year.

After Arrival - Temporary Residence Permit (TRP):

• Must apply for TRP before visa expires.

• TRP valid up to 3 years for subsequent renewals.
• Processing time: 8-10 months (permit valid during processing period).

Important Notes:

• Cannot travel outside Poland during TRP application processing if visa has expired.
