Student Pass (Visa)

International students accepted into a full-time MS programme in Singapore must apply for a Student's Pass issued by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

Key points:

  • Applications are submitted online through the SOLAR+ system (ICA's e-service portal)
  • A new application must be submitted at least 1 month and no more than 2 months before the course begins
  • A non-refundable SGD 30 processing fee applies; an SGD 60 issuance fee is payable on approval
  • As of February 2023, ICA issues the Student's Pass in digital form only
  • Students on a Student's Pass may engage in paid work only if they meet specific conditions under the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
  • The Student's Pass is tied to active enrolment. It is cancelled if a student ceases to be enrolled
